RYFA 7v7 Football

Welcome to our 7v7 Football League! Designed for athletes in grades 6th-8th, this co-ed league offers an exciting and fast-paced opportunity to take your football skills to the next level. With two nights of practices or games each week, players will have plenty of chances to develop their skills, improve their football IQ, and experience the thrill of the game in a fun, non-contact environment.

Our 7v7 format focuses on passing, route running, and defensive strategy, allowing players to hone their skills in a competitive yet supportive atmosphere. Teams are kept small to ensure maximum playing time for every participant, making this an ideal opportunity for athletes looking to grow and develop as both individuals and teammates.

As with every youth sport, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! All coaching positions are filled by volunteers and we will need families to step up and help. As a thank you to those who sign up to volunteer, we will be offering the following...

• Coaches will have their own athlete on their team and can choose ONE other player or assistant coach to be on their team!  
• A playbook and coaching materials will be provided. No experience necessary!
• Each coach will receive a free RYFA Coach's t-shirt
• A pre-season coaches meeting will be held to answer any questions 

New for 2024 we have an exciting new offering for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. RYFA 7v7 league is a competitive, non-contact football league designed to help kids improve their football skill and knowledge of the game. 

The 7 on 7 season will run at the same time as the current flag season June 17th-July 31st.  

Games will be played in the evenings Monday-Thursday starting at 5:30pm.

Whether your son or daughter wants to get ready for their upcoming tackle season or simply wants to be outside with his/her friends playing football, they'll love 7 on 7.  

Registration fee: $150

Registration opens: April 1, 2024

Registration close: May 17th, 2024

Season Start: June 17, 2024

Season end: July 31st, 2024

All COACHES MUST COMPLETE Trusted coaches SAFETY TRAINING

Safety training is mandatory for all coaches within RYFA. The training covers abuse awareness, reporting, and player safety. Refresher courses will be every two years.

History

In 2018, Congress passed The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 (the SafeSport Act). The legislation is aimed at preventing and reporting child abuse in youth sports by expanding the categories of “mandatory reporters” and requiring organizations to provide enhanced training.

In addition to requiring training, the SafeSport Act also expands the definition of mandatory reporter to include any “adult who is authorized, by a national governing body, a member of the national governing body…to interact with a minor or amateur athlete at an amateur sports organization facility or at any event sanctioned by a national governing body, a member of a national governing body, or such an amateur sports organization.” RYFA urges all adults to understand their reporting obligations outlined below.
